Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 16, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how NEOGENIO S.R.L. ("Neogenio", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the Neogenio SEO AI Engine (the "Service") and on our website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
Your cookie choice
You can change this at any time. Refusing deletes the analytics cookie and stops the requests immediately.
1. Introduction
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary to deliver the Service, to keep it secure and to remember your interface language. One is not: a single analytics cookie, which we set only after you have accepted it and which we delete if you refuse. This policy describes what these technologies are, which categories exist, which ones we actually use, the legal basis for each, and how to give or withdraw your consent at any time.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function, to keep you signed in, to remember preferences, and to help keep services secure. Cookies may be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (which remain until they expire or are deleted).
"Similar technologies" include local storage, session storage, and comparable browser mechanisms that store information on your device. Where we refer to "cookies" in this policy, we mean cookies and these similar technologies.
3. Why we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Authentication and sessions: to sign you in, keep you signed in as you navigate the application, and maintain your session securely.
- Security: to protect the Service against fraud and abuse and to maintain the integrity of your session.
- Essential preferences: to remember basic settings required for the application to function, such as your selected interface language.
- Analytics (optional): to count which pages are viewed, so that we can see which parts of the Service are used and improve them, and to measure signups so advertising platforms can bid on customers rather than clicks. These purposes are not strictly necessary. They are active only if you accept.
4. Cookie categories
The table below sets out the standard categories and what we do with each. Strictly necessary cookies are always active. The analytics cookie is set only after you have accepted it. The status column states the position for each category.
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential (strictly necessary) | Authentication, session management, security, and core functionality. | __cf_bm, __dpl, sign-in session, interface language | In use |
| Functional | Remembering optional preferences to enhance usability. | UI preferences | Reserved for future use: not currently set |
| Analytics | Counting page views so that we can understand and improve the Service. | session-id (30 minutes), _ga and _ga_* (Google Analytics), _uetsid (1 day) and _uetvid (390 days) (Microsoft) | Set only after you accept, deleted if you refuse |
| Marketing | Measuring campaigns and personalising content. Microsoft also sets MUID on its own domain (.bing.com, 390 days) and TikTok also sets _ttp on its own domain (.tiktok.com) and LinkedIn also sets bcookie, li_gc and lidc on .linkedin.com when their tags load after you accept. We cannot read or delete those cookies. | _fbp and _fbc (Meta), _uetsid (1 day), _uetvid (390 days) and _uetmsclkid (90 days) (Microsoft), _tt_enable_cookie and _ttp (TikTok). LinkedIn's tag sets no cookie on our own domain. | Set only after you accept, deleted if you refuse |
5. First-party and third-party cookies
First-party cookies are set by Neogenio directly, or by the infrastructure that hosts and protects our site, and they cover the strictly necessary purposes described above. Third-party cookies are set by external providers. Our analytics is a third-party service: its script is served from our own domain, and the page views it records are posted to an address on our own domain rather than directly to the provider. It is not the only optional cookie we set: if you accept, tags from Google, Meta, Microsoft, TikTok and LinkedIn also load and set the cookies listed in the table above. None of them run unless you accept, refusing stops those requests, and we delete the cookies set on our own domain. Cookies those providers set on their own domains, such as Microsoft's MUID on .bing.com, TikTok's _ttp on .tiktok.com and LinkedIn's bcookie, li_gc and lidc on .linkedin.com, cannot be read or deleted by us.
6. Legal basis for cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis that they are essential to provide the Service you request and to keep it secure; they do not require consent under applicable law. The analytics cookie is not essential, so it rests on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): it is not set before you give that consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using the control at the top of this page. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out while your consent was in place.
7. The analytics cookie and your choice
The analytics cookie is named session-id. It contains a randomly generated identifier, it is limited to this site, and it expires 30 minutes after it is set. Its only purpose is to allow page views to be counted. Until you accept it, it is not set at all: the script that would write it is prevented from doing so, and no page view is sent. If you refuse, or if you accept and later change your mind, the cookie is deleted and the requests stop immediately. You can change your choice at any time using the control at the top of this page.
8. Managing and disabling cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings: most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies through their settings or privacy menu. Consult your browser's help pages for instructions.
- Deleting cookies: you can delete cookies already stored on your device at any time via your browser.
- Do Not Track: some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal; because there is no common industry standard, we handle such signals in line with applicable law.
9. Consequences of disabling essential cookies
Blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies and storage may prevent you from signing in or may cause parts of the Service to stop working correctly. They cannot be switched off through the consent control, because the Service cannot be delivered without them. The analytics cookie is different: it is optional, and refusing it does not affect how the Service works.
10. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, particularly if we introduce new categories of cookies. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you.
